The Parks and Recreation board members can serve two, 3-year terms. They make recommendations to the staff on issues concerning parks and recreation. They attend a quarterly meeting where the parks and recreation director discuss things that are going on in the department and keep them up to date with current events. This helps the board be able to talk to the public about the department and have input on any change that might occur. The members also assist in Arbor Day celebration in partnership with Keep Greenville Beautiful. In addition, the Board serves as the City’s Tree Board.
